Superannuation & Retirement Planning (Kiwisaver)

Purpose

To provide financial advisers with a skills-basedcourse that will enable them to advise employers and employees onsuperannuation, specifically Kiwisaver, and how it fits in the wider context offinancial planning needs for individuals and employers.

Who should attend this course?

If you are a financial adviser orproviding advice to Employers/Employees with regard to Kiwisaver and theirsuperannuation needs and wish to:

  • Gain up-to-date knowledge of the elements of the KiwiSaver scheme and how it operates
  • Identify the business opportunities in working with employers/business owners and establishing effective professional advisor relationships with them
  • Be able to negotiate a fee for advisory services
  • Learn about existing workplace benefits schemes, the implications and consequences of switching, and how the KiwiSaver scheme may affect these
  • Develop skills in influencing the behaviours of diverse groups of employees
  • Learn how to emotionally engage employers and employees in identifiedfinancial needs

  • Provide advice to business clients and their employees on superannuation and retirement planning matters
  • Conduct a needs analysis and produce quality written recommendations for a client

  • Full overview of the KiwiSaver scheme and how it works including the legislation
  • Features/Benefits/Implications/Consequences of existing Retirement Schemes and Workplace Savings schemes
  • Principles of Retirement and Investment Planning
  • The Adviser/Employer Relationship - the business opportunity/working in the business markets
  • The Adviser/Employee Relationship - the business opportunity/cross-sell opportunities
  • The Advice Process- Consultative selling skills/Selling superannuation and providing advice on superannuation needs

Qualification

Upon successful completion of theprogram, you will be qualified to provide personal advice in relation to regulatedfinancial services products.

You will also receive a Certificateof Competence signifying partial completion of the following NZQA accredited NewZealand qualification, the National Certificatein Financial Services (Financial Advice) (Level 5).

This course is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority(NZQA) under the provisions of the Education Act 1989, and adviserlink is aregistered private training enterprise accredited to teach it.
