Insurance Planning

Purpose

This insurance planning course aimsto provide learners with the technical skills to develop a comprehensiveinsurance plan that covers the breadth of insurance planning and incorporatesthe six-step financial advice process.

Areas covered in the plan will include life insurance, trauma, incomereplacement, medical insurance and fire and general insurance.

This is a stand alone course that is part of the nationally recognised New Zealand qualification of the National Certificate in Financial Services (Financial Advice) (Level 5).

  • Are you a financial adviser who wants to provide a full range of financial advice to your clients
  • Do you currently, or intend to, work in the insurance industry

Learning objectives

After completing this course youwill be able to:

  • Discuss complex and in-depth insurance planning issues with clients
  • Interpret data and information gathered in the fact find, and use this to formulate strategies and recommendations for the client
  • Provide advice across the breadth of the six-step advice process and develop recommendations for each element
  • Research and analyse client and market data and information including specific risks or unusual requirements
  • Establish actions, timings and priorities needed to implement complex and/or an innovative insurance plan
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive insurance plan
  • Establish a review and monitoring process

  • Introduction to the comprehensive insurance plan, preparation and review
  • The client relationship and the needs analysis process
  • Gathering data and identifying goals, objectives and insurance issues
  • Preparing recommendations
  • Writing a comprehensive insurance plan
  • Performance review

Qualification

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be qualified to provide personal advice in relation to regulated insurance products.

You will also receive a Certificateof Competence signifying partial completion of the following NZQA accredited NewZealand qualification, the National Certificatein Financial Services (Financial Advice) (Level 5).

This course is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority(NZQA) under the provisions of the Education Act 1989, and Adviserlink is a registered private training enterprise accredited to teach it.
