Financial Plan Construction & Review

Purpose

This course aims to provide learnerswith the technical skills to develop a comprehensive financial plan that coversthe breadth of financial planning and incorporates the six-step financialadvice process.

This is a stand alone course that is part of the nationally recognised New Zealand qualification of the National Certificate in Financial Services (Financial Advice) (Level 5).

Who should attend this course?

  • Are you currently operating as a personal financial adviser or financial planner
  • Do you write partial or comprehensive financial plans
  • Are you a financial adviser wanting to implement total client care strategies in your business
  • Are you working through the IFA Education Track and wish to become a CFP (Certified Financial Planner)

Learning objectives

After completing this course youwill be able to:

  • Discuss complex and in-depth financial planning issues with clients
  • Interpret data and information gathered in the fact find and use this to formulate strategies and recommendations for the client
  • Provide advice across the breadth of the six step financial advice process and develop recommendation for each element
  • Research and analyse client and market data and information including risks or unusual requirements
  • Establish actions, timings and priorities needed to implement complex and/or an innovative financial plan
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial plan
  • Establish a review and monitoring process

  • Introduction to the comprehensive financial plan, preparation and review
  • The client relationship and the needs analysis process
  • Gathering data and identifying goals, objectives and financial issues
  • Preparing recommendations
  • Writing the comprehensive financial plan
  • Implementing and reviewing the comprehensive financial plan
  • Performance review

Qualification

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Certificate of Competence signifying partial completion of thefollowing NZQA accredited New Zealand qualification, the National Certificate in Financial Services (Financial Advice) (Level 5).

This course is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority(NZQA) under the provisions of the Education Act 1989, and Adviserlink is a registered private training enterprise accredited to teach it.
