About AdviserLink
Introduction
Adviserlink Ltd was established in 1994 and is widely known as the key specialist independent provider, of professional education and training, to the financial services industry.
Adviserlink is registered as a Private Training Establishment (PTE) with the NZQA and helps financial advisers build their businesses through supporting them in the progression from knowledge to skills, and therefore, to productivity.
Knowledge is the foundation
Knowledge is the foundation of a successful business. Successful financial advisers know investment markets and theory, the legislative environment, risks that clients must protect against, and strategies and products available to meet their clients’ needs.
Clients require financial advice imparted with skill. Attracting clients, empathising, analysing and implementing tailored solutions are skill sets that Adviserlink imparts to ensure the success of financial services professionals. Adviserlink supports this with an ongoing communication and monitoring programme to ensure the continued development of these skills.
The correct skill set built upon a solid foundation of knowledge results in greater business productivity. Adviserlink’s ultimate goal is to increase the return financial advisers receive from their businesses in terms of remuneration, personal growth and continued career development.
Adviserlink has partnered with the wider financial services industry to provide a broad range of education and training services. Through its Partnership Programme with leading professional bodies and institutions, Adviserlink is able to offer subsidised and targeted programmes to meet specific needs.
Adviserlink is proud to offer the Adviserlink Certificate in Financial Services (level 5) which is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under the provisions of the Education Act 1989, and Adviserlink is accredited to teach it.
Our Philosophy
Be alert to the changing marketplace; be aware of our client’s professional education needs, which will enable them to practice in the financial advisory profession; and deliver our educational services to a high professional standard.
Our belief in this philosophy drives us to ensure we stay in touch with market changes, maintain strong relationships with our key clients, and demonstrate a commitment to continuing professionalism in the quality of our courses and the services we deliver.
The financial services industry in New Zealand is currently undergoing significant change. The Financial Advisers Bill currently before Parliament will bring about a number of changes for financial advisers and introduce a regulatory framework governed by the Securities Commission.
The proposed regulatory regime has really been evolving over the past four to five years. The primary driver has been to protect the consumer and provide increased confidence in the financial advisory profession. The passing of legislation has especially increased in urgency over the past year due to a number of finance company collapses and therefore created greater public awareness of the financial services sector as a whole.
A significant aspect of this changing environment will be the need for financial advisers to be suitably skilled and competent in their respective discipline(s) in order to provide financial advice to consumers.
