Over the past 23 years, Adviserlink has worked closely with industry and Government regulatory bodies to ensure we stay attuned to industry needs and regulatory changes.
More than any other financial services training organisation Adviserlink has helped – and continues to help –financial advisers build their businesses on a solid foundation of skill and knowledge.
This invariably has lead to greater business productivity and increased levels of skill and competence across the industry. Adviserlink’s ultimate goal is to provide quality education and training at all levels across the breadth of the financial services industry in New Zealand, thus enabling advisers of all disciplines to offer top quality professional services to the consumer.
Adviserlink intends to continue this tradition of educational excellence in the financial services industry and is well equipped to take the business to the next level in offering National Qualifications that meet the regulatory requirements of our industry.
Knowledge is the foundation
Knowledge is the foundation of a successful business. Successful financial advisers know investment markets and theory, the legislative environment, risks that clients must protect against, and strategies and products available to meet their clients’ needs.
Clients require financial advice imparted with skill. Attracting clients, empathising, analysing and implementing tailored solutions are skill sets that Adviserlink imparts to ensure the success of financial services professionals. Adviserlink supports this with an ongoing communication and monitoring programme to ensure the continued development of these skills.
The correct skill set built upon a solid foundation of knowledge results in greater business productivity. Adviserlink’s ultimate goal is to increase the return financial advisers receive from their businesses in terms of remuneration, personal growth and continued career development.
Adviserlink has partnered with the wider financial services industry to provide a broad range of education and training services. Through its Partnership Programme with leading professional bodies and institutions, Adviserlink is able to offer subsidised and targeted programmes to meet specific needs.
Adviserlink is proud to offer the National Certificate in Financial Services (Financial Advice) (level 5) and the National Certificate in Financial Services (level 4) which are both approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under the provisions of the Education Act 1989, and Adviserlink is accredited to teach them.
Our Philosophy
Be alert to the changing marketplace; be aware of our client’s professional education needs, which will enable them to practice in the financial advisory profession; and deliver our educational services to a high professional standard.
Our belief in this philosophy drives us to ensure we stay in touch with market changes, maintain strong relationships with our key clients, and demonstrate a commitment to continuing professionalism in the quality of our courses and the services we deliver.
The financial services industry in New Zealand is currently undergoing significant change. Legislation including the Financial Advisers Act 2008 is having a major impact on the various sectors in the NZ Financial Services industry. The Financial Advisers Act includes a number of legislative changes – the most predominant one from an education and training perspective is the introduction of minimum standards of skill and competence to provide financial advice.
A significant aspect of this changing environment is the need for financial advisers to be “suitably qualified” to provide financial advice to consumers.
